PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Medaille FR Laura Kratzke had a standout week for the Mavericks, going 3-0 while also earning a save. She finished the week with a 0.69 era, throwing one complete game shutout and three complete games in all. Against Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday, she scattered five hits over nine innings for the win in game one. In Sunday's double header against La Roche, she gave up one run in the first inning of game one then threw 13 innings of shutout ball the rest of the way.
BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend SR Rachel Miller picked up a pair of wins this week, allowing just two earned runs and striking out four for a 1.17 ERA, while throwing two complete games and giving up just 10 hits...Franciscan FR Jayln Effertz finished the week 2-0 in conference play as she dominated in her season-debut against La Roche, allowing just one earned run over 5.0 innings against the Red Hawks on six hits while striking out one, and then earning the win in the second game of the AMCC split with D'Youville after going 7.0 innings and allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out three...PS-Altoona SR Kate Burge went 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA in four starts against AMCC opponents, pitching 28 innings, giving up only seven earned runs and striking out 16 batters, while becoming PSA's all-time wins leader among pitchers in Lady Lions softball history...Mount Aloysius SO Morgan Rackish went 1-0 with a win over Hilbert, as she gave up five hits, one earned run two walks and fanned four batters...La Roche JR Savannah Leonard had a 2.23 ERA in 22 innings last week, giving up seven earned runs and only two walks, while striking out six...Pitt-Greensburg FR Jaimie Schleicher went 2-1, throwing 23.0 innings, giving up four earned runs and striking out 17, finishing the week with a 1.22 ERA
