  • MOUNTIES' KEIBLER GAINS NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR MYRTLE BEACH PERFORMANCE

    Mount Aloysius College senior first baseman Sam Keibler has earned national recognition for his performance for the Mount Aloysius baseball team last week.
  • Douglas Cannon, Mount Aloysius College, Baseball - Pitcher
    March 18, 2019
    Cannon put in two solid performances for the Mounties last week. In his start against Albertus Magnus, Cannon threw a complete game scattering eight hits and allowing two runs in the seven inning contest. He struck out six batters while allowing only one walk, handing them their first loss of 2019. He also threw three innings in relief in against Wells College. Cannon threw the final three innings for the Mounties, allowing one run on four hits. 
  • Sam Keibler, Mount Aloysius College, Baseball - Player

    Keibler hit .455 (10-for-22), recorded an on base percentage of .556 and slugged .727 this week. He hit three doubles and a home run, stole two bases, drove in six runs and scored five more. He also played an error free first base for the week, recording 63 putouts. 
  • Sawyer Kline, Penn State Altoona, Baseball - Pitcher

    Kline had a stellar start against Anna Maria on Thursday, leading the Lions to a 5-1 win in Florida. He pitched a complete game for his first victory of the season, going seven innings and allowing only one run on four hits and three walks. He also struck out 14 batters, tying for the second-most strikeouts in a game in Lions baseball history.

    Mccourt hit .583 and reached base 60% of the time in a 4-0 weekend in Myrtle Beach. He scored six runs and knocked in another six. He recorded two doubles and a triple.

    After being named the AMCC Baseball Player of the Week on Monday, Mount Aloysius College shortstop Matthew McCourt received more accolades for his opening season performance.

    Myers got his first win of the 2019 season vs. Wilkes on Sunday. He pitched six innings and gave up two earned runs out of four, while striking out seven.  
  • Matt McCourt, Mount Aloysius College, Baseball (Player)

    McCourt hit .500 in the season opening double header for the Mounties. He went 2-for-3 in the game one victory, hitting two long home runs and adding an RBI ground out. He collected 10 total bases on the day. The second home run came in the top of the 7th to give the Mounties the win.

    The AMCC had two baseball student-athletes earn the first NCAA Div. III weekly accolades awarded by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association in 2019.

  • Ryan Boyer, Pitt-Bradford, Baseball - Pitcher

    Boyer was purely dominant in his opening day start, coming one out away from a perfect game Saturday. He struck out 16 batters in a seven-inning complete game to pick up the win at Wells and didn't walk anyone. Lone hit against was a home run, serving as his only surrendered run. The 16 strikeouts are a Pitt-Bradford single-game program record dating back through the 2006 season.
  • Austin Parent, Pitt-Bradford, Baseball - Player
    February 25, 2019
    Parent went 5-for-13 in a three-game sweep at Wells this weekend. His best game came in the third and sweep-clinching contest where he homered, doubled twice and drove in five runs. In the three games, he scored four runs, walked twice and stole a base. Parent recorded 26 putouts and a .963 fielding percentage.

    The Medaille College baseball team registered a few weeks ago for Roswell Park's Goin' Bald For Bucks Campaign with hopes of raising $1,000 to help strike out cancer.

    Six-time AMCC baseball champion, La Roche College, is once again expected to defend their league title, according to league coaches. Penn State Behrend is likely to take the second spot, while 2018 runner-up Pitt-Greensburg is expected to round out the top three.

  • RICK CARVER NAMED FRANCISCAN BASEBALL HEAD COACH

    Franciscan University Director of athletics, Mike Holmes, announced today the hiring of Rick Carver as the head coach for the newly revitalized baseball program. Carver joins Franciscan after a prolific 29-year career at nearby Bethany College.
