Cara Zollars, Penn State Behrend, Women's Volleyball (Defensive)

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Behrend DS Cara Zollars registered 47 digs (4.70 average), six assists and five aces in a 4-0 weekend for the Lions. She tallied 20 digs in a 3-0 win over Thiel in the season opener. Zollars posted double-digit digs in three of the four matches to start the season. She also helped the Lions to go undefeated at the Alfred Saxon Classic and not give up a set in all four matches this week.

BEST OF THE REST: PS-Altoona JR Lydia Mock had a strong day for the Lions in the Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic, helping her team go 1-1 in matches against Gettysburg and Penn State Berks, as she combined to record 23 digs (3.83 digs per set), tying for the team lead through two matches and was named to the All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the day's action...Pitt-Bradford DS Kayla Maslowski stepped into the Panther defensive rotation over the weekend, recording 59 digs in 15 sets played in the Panthers' trip to St. Vincent for the Bearcat Challenge, as she collected 26 digs in a five set come-from-behind win...Hilbert JR Kayla Kuzara racked up 24 digs over the course of the weekend and was a defensive anchor for the Hawks...Pitt-Greensburg FR Abby Copeland has a team-high 64 digs on the season and has led the team in digs in all of its matches, including a season-high of 17 digs against Allegheny in the Bearcat Challenge at Saint Vincent...Medaille OH Baylee Romano opened her senior season on a defensive high note in the University of Rochester Invitational this weekend, as she amassed a total of 18 digs in three matches, recording seven against RIT, four against Smith College, and seven agaisnt U of R...Mount Aloysius DS Abigail Fletcher led the Mounties with 51 digs over the weekend at the VWU Tournament, recording 19 and 16 digs in the two games.
