Men's Basketball: La Roche F Tyler Frederick helped the Redhawks go 2-0 on the week and secure the number one seed in the AMCC championship tournament for the third year in a row. In an 82-75 victory against Franciscan on Wednesday, Frederick put up big numbers with 28 points and tied his career-high with 19 rebounds, picking up his 14th double-double (T-8th in D-III). Later in the week, Frederick led the Redhawks to a comeback win at Hilbert College with a team-high 19 points and contributed four rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block. On the week, Frederick averaged 23.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 70% (16-23) from the floor, 55.6% (5-9) from deep and a perfect 10-10 at the free throw line.
Women's Basketball: Hilbert G Emily Gawlak led the Hawks to a pair of victories, one in the AMCC Game of the Week. She tossed in 22 points along with eight rebounds, four assists and four steals to become the Hawks all-time scoring leader against Pitt-Bradford on Feb 12. Gawlak closed the weekend with 20 points and five rebounds in Hilbert's victory over La Roche. For the week, she shot 41.9-percent from the floor, including an impressive 45.5-percent (5-for-11) beyond the arc and 91.7 percent (11-12) from the foul line. She was whistled for only two fouls in 74 minutes of action while sitting at the top of the league with 2.4 steals per game. She continues to lead the AMCC in scoring at 18.0 points per game.
Men's Volleyball: PS-Altoona OH Frank Perehinec was strong for the Lions in a 2-2 week against challenging opponents, as Penn State Altoona posted sweeps of Wilkes and SUNY Potsdam while losing to No. 6 ranked Wells and Division II Daemen. In four matches, Frank totaled 35.5 points, averaging 3.0 points per set. He totaled 30 kills (2.50 kills per set), 19 digs (1.58 digs per set), seven total blocks (0.58 blocks per set), and three assists (0.25 assists per set). Frank's attack percentage on the week was a very solid .339.
