AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR NOVEMBER 13-19, 2023
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's basketball, swimming & diving, and men's wrestling for the period running from November 13-19, 2023.

Women's Swimming: PS-Behrend FR Camryn Watters broke three records on the weekend. She set a new team record with a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:08.39. Watters also set team record in the 100 backstroke in the 400 medley relay and also broke the team record in the 50 backstroke in the first leg of the 200 medley relay with a time of 27.06. She swam 1:26.32 in the opening leg of the medley relay that took second to break the record. Watters also placed third in the 50 free in 25.41.
Women's Diving: PS-Behrend FR Lauren Stephens took second on the three-meter board with a score of 366.05 and then placed third on the one-meter board (348.05) at Fredonia this weekend.
Men's Swimming: PS-Behrend JR Tim Compton won three individual events and three relays, while breaking three records to help the Lions win the Blue Devil Invite. He broke the pool and team record in the 200 fly (1:51.80), and also broke the team record in the 200 IM (1:53.70). Compton also won the 400 IM (4:10.51) and swam on the 800 free, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay teams that took first place.
Men's Diving: Alfred State SO Conor Compton finished first on both boards, while breaking his own record on the 3 meter board. He recorded 498.2 points in the 1m dive before earning 533.1 in the 3m dive.
Men's Wrestling: Pitt-Bradford FR Gavin Thompson went 4-1 at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on his way to a third place finish in the 285 weight class. Thompson pinned his first two opponents before falling to the No. 6 wrestler in the country at his weight class. He followed that up with a major decision win and then secured third place with a 10-9 decision victory. He led the Panthers to their highest invitational finish in program history (6th) and their highest point total at an invitational (71.0).
Women's Basketball: Mount Aloysius F Molly Kosmack has made an immediate impact for the Mounties, averaging an impressive double-double over three games in the week. She led the Mounties to three straight wins, their first such win streak in over five years. Kosmack started the week with 16 points and 14 rebounds to go along with two assists and three blocks against Wilson. She added 13 points and nine rebounds against Hood. Kosmack finished the week with a 20-point, 15-rebound double-double, where she went 9-for-13 from the field in the Mounties' win against Hiram. She also went 13-for-15 from the free throw line for the week.
Men's Basketball: Carlow G Byron Gaskins scored 65 points in three games and shot 77.4 percent (24-for-31) from the foul line. Gaskins started off the week with 33 points, three steals, two blocks and two rebounds in a win over PS-Shenango. He followed that up with 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win over Regent. Gaskins finished the week with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assist and two steals against Apprentice School. He averaged 21.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game with eight steals and six assists.
