AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR MARCH 23-29, 2026
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports men's volleyball, baseball, tennis, and women's lacrosse and softball for the period running from March 23-29, 2026.
Baseball (Player): Pitt-Bradford INF Alex Colwell led Pitt-Bradford to a 4-0 week as he recorded a home run, six runs scored, and six RBI. The Panthers started off the week with a sweep over Alfred then recorded two conference wins over Penn State Altoona. In the sweep of conference opponent Penn State-Altoona, Colwell was 4-for-7 with a three-run home run and three runs scored, slashing .571/.667/1.000 in the two conference wins.
Baseball (Pitcher): Pitt-Greensburg JR Conner Burkey led Pitt-Greensburg to a win over conference opponent Hilbert Sunday. Burkey went the distance by getting the complete game victory, scattering eight hits over seven innings and allowing only one run while striking out four.
Softball (Player): Pitt-Bradford P/SS Krislyn Clement went 4-for-6 with a pair of home runs, six RBI, four runs scored, and two walks in the Panthers' sweep of Mount Aloysius on Sunday. In the opener, she reached in all four plate appearances, going 2-for-2 with a pair of walks, a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. In the nightcap, she was 2-for-4 with four RBI, including a three-run home run, which gave Pitt-Bradford the lead for good.
Softball (Pitcher): PS-Altoona RHP Josselyn Nau combined to go 1-1 with a 2.55 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP in starts last week against non-conference opponent McDaniel and AMCC foe Hilbert. Nau tossed two complete games, including a shutout of the Hawks, and pitched 11 innings while recording three strikeouts. In her AMCC victory over Hilbert, Nau pitched the complete game, giving up zero runs on two hits while recording two strikeouts and no walks.
Men's Volleyball (Offensive): Houghton OH Devin Cline was instrumental in leading Houghton to a 2-1 week and helping the Highlanders secure a postseason tournament berth. He hit .346 across the three matches with 38 kills and just 10 errors, while adding 22 digs. He tallied 23 kills and 13 digs against Mt. Aloysius and finished the week with 12 kills and a .375 hitting percentage, along with six digs vs. PSU-Altoona.
Men's Volleyball (Defensive): Hilbert OH/L Mike Pozzuto had a strong week for the Hawks as they went 1-1 across two conference games. Pozzuto finished the week with 26 digs (4.33 digs per set) to go along with four assists and 22 receptions, averaging a .943 reception percentage.
Women's Lacrosse (Offensive): Alfred State A Karlee Hargather led the Pioneers as she tallied eight goals and three assists for 11 points, while also adding seven groundballs, and 11 draw controls.
Women's Lacrosse (Defensive): La Roche GK Julianna Hornikel had to play strong in net in the Redhawks' lone game of the week against Marietta, making 15 stops on the day, while also leading the team with six ground balls.
Men's Tennis: PS-Altoona JR Jackson Newell went 2-0 in both of his singles and doubles matches on Sunday, helping to lead the Penn State Altoona men's tennis team to a doubleheader sweep of Pitt-Greensburg. In his pair of No. 3 singles matches, he posted 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 victories. In No. 3 doubles, he was part of a 6-0 win, and he also rattled off a 6-4 triumph in his No. 2 doubles match.
