AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR APRIL 20-26, 2026
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports baseball softball for the period running from April 20-26, 2026.
Softball (Player): Pitt-Bradford OF Miranda Groll led the Panthers to a 5-1 week, including a pair of AMCC sweeps over Hilbert and Pitt-Greensburg. From the leadoff spot, she hit .556 with a home run, 11 runs scored, four RBI, and three stolen bases. She really made her mark in conference play, where she slashed .643/.706/1.143 with 10 runs scored, four extra base hits (including a home run), four RBI, and two stolen bases. She also made plays all over the outfield, totaling 23 putouts and two outfield assists.
Softball (Pitcher): Mount Aloysius SR Jessica Koptcho went 2-0 across three appearances, headlined by her first career perfect game in a 9-0 win over Carlow, where she struck out six over five perfect innings. She finished the stretch with 19 strikeouts in 15.2 innings, posting a 3.13 ERA and two complete games.
Baseball (Player): Alfred State UTIL Jordan Hughes led the Pioneers to a sweep over Penn State Altoona, as he went 5-for-7 with three homeruns and two walks for eight RBI, while slashing .714/.778/2.000. Hughes went 4-for-5 in the first game against the Lions with two homers and five RBI, including a walkoff home run to complete the eight run come back. Then in game two, he went 1-for-2 with his lone hit being another home run. He tallied three RBI and two walks. He also pitched 2.1 innings in game one and tallied three strikeouts.
Baseball (Pitcher): Hilbert JR Jude Lowry tossed a complete game, without allowing an earned run, and struck out eight Mounties to lift the Hawks to a 6-2 win against Mount Aloysius on Friday afternoon. Lowry did not allow an extra base hit and only walked one on the day, registering a 0.0 ERA.
