AMCC STUDENT-ATHLETES RECOGNIZED FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

A trio of AMCC student-athletes have been honored by national organizations for their academic achievements.

Penn State Behrend starting pitcher Dante DeSantis has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Team.  To qualify, a student-athlete must achieve a GPA of 3.4 or higher.  DeSantis has put together a sensational senior season, compiling a 7-2 record with a 2.26 earned run average in 51.2 innings pitched. He has served as the backbone of a Lions pitching staff that has struck out more batters (250) and allowed fewer walks (82) than any other team in the AMCC.

DeSantis is joined in the spotlight by Mount Aloysius College women's bowling team members Sara Rosazza and Jennifer Craig.  The pair were named to the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association Academic All American team late last week.

Rosazza, a sophomore, is in the criminology program. Craig, a junior, majors in psychology. To be selected to the NCBCA team, a bowler must be a United States Bowling Congress collegiate athlete who has a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 based on a 4.0 scale.The National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) is part of Bowl.com and the United States Bowling Conference (USBC).
