CUMMING, SEYMOUR, & HILLARD HEADLINE BASEBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
Penn State Altoona senior first baseman Catcher Cumming has been tabbed as the 2021 AMCC Baseball Player of the Year. He led the AMCC in home runs (9) and slugging percentage (.833) while also ranking third in RBIs (28) and total bases (65), sixth in triples (2), 10th in runs scored (23) and batting average (.397), 12th in on-base percentage (.467) and sac flies (2), and 13th in hits (31) and hit by pitch (4). He twice set the program's single game record for home runs this season, homering three times in two different games. In the field, Cumming was fourth in the AMCC in putouts (155) and committed just one error in 160 total chances for a .994 fielding percentage. This season, he earned AMCC Player of the Week, D3baseball.com Team of the Week, and NCBWA Division III Hitter of the Week honors.
La Roche University senior starting pitcher Jake Seymour has been named the AMCC Pitcher of the Year. Seymour went a perfect 5-0 in regular season play. His five wins were the most among AMCC pitchers. His 0.52 ERA ranked first in the conference and 8th in NCAA D-III. In 34.0 innings pitched, Seymour had 35 strikeouts, five walks and gave up only two earned runs. Seymour pitched four complete games and had three shutout victories. He had three games where he allowed three hits or less and never gave up more than six hits in a game. Seymour notched a career-high 11 K's in a 5-2 win over Mt. Aloysius in the AMCC Game of the Week on April 26th. Seymour was named the AMCC Pitcher of the week on May 13 and 17 and earned NCBWA Honorable Mention NCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week honors on May 19.
Newcomer of the Year honors goes to Penn State Altoona freshman third baseman Jake Hillard. In AMCC play this season, he ranked second in total bases (68) and slugging percentage (.791), third in doubles (11) and home runs (7), seventh in runs scored (25), hits (34), and RBIs (27), 12th in sacrifice flies (2), 13th in batting average (.395) and triples (1), 19th in on-base percentage (.443), and 30th in walks (9). This season, Hillard took one AMCC Player of the Week award and was also named the NCBWA Division III Rookie of the Week (May 3).
La Roche head coach Chase Rowe has earned his eighth AMCC Coach of the Year honors. Rowe led the Redhawks to a 15-1 conference record and to their ninth straight AMCC championship game.
