PITT-GREENSBURG'S MANKOSKI NAMED NCBWA DIV. III ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Pitt-Greensburg freshman Nathan Mankoski was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division III Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 5, 2023. 

Mankoski had a memorable first collegiate start with a seven-inning no-hitter in Friday’s 13-0 win over Martin Luther College (Minnesota) at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. Mankoski, who logged the program’s first no-hitter, struck out a program-record 15 batters. He was an error away from a perfect game. Mankoski was on this week’s D3baseball.com Team of the Week and was named the AMCC Pitcher of the Week on March 6.

There are 389 Division III baseball teams in the county. Each week, the NCBWA recognizes a player, pitcher, and rookie as their players of the week. Mankoski is the first Bobcat in program history to receive an award from the NCBWA.
