MAC'S GREENFIELD NAMED TO D3HOOPS NATIONAL TEAM OF THE WEEK

AMCC Player of the Week Shawn Greenfield was named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week on Thursday afternoon for his outstanding performances in last week's victories over Franciscan and D'Youville.

The Mount Aloysius senior Greenfield drained 30 points in a 92-72 win over Franciscan, shooting at 68.8 percent from the floor, 60 percent from behind the arc, and 100 percent from the line, while adding four steals on the defensive end. He followed that performance with 35 points in a Senior Day win versus D'Youville. In a 95-72 win, he narrowly missed a triple-double with 10 rebounds and seven assists. On the week, Greenfield averaged 32.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.0 steals.

"Shawn was stellar. He  put up some impressive stats and is certainly deserving of this kind of national honor. I'm really proud of him," Head Coach Lance Loya said.

On the season, Greenfield broke the conference record for points per game and moved up to third in NCAA Division III in scoring average. In addition, Greenfield set a new program record for points per game in a single season. At the conclusion of the AMCC regular season on Saturday, Greenfield ranked first in the conference in points per game (26) and fourth in three-point percentage (44.6).

Greenfield is the first men's basketball player in school history to be given this national honor.
