For the second consecutive year, Hilbert College's Trevor Stark has been selected to the Jewish Sports Review (JSR) Men's College Basketball All-American First Team. Stark reunited with two other repeat performers and welcomed three new members to the six-man All-American team.
Stark started all 28 games this season, averaging 33.8 minutes per game. He tossed in 13.9 points and led the AMCC with 5.9 assists per game. Stark closed his final season with impressive shooting percentages: 45.7% field goal while nailing 36.5% of his shots beyond the 3-pt arc. His 90.6 free throw percentage ranked him seventh nationally in the Division III final statistics.
The point guard set a new Hilbert College single-game record with 15 assists and he became the 11th men's basketball player to score over 1,000 in his collegiate career. Stark's leadership at the point guided the Hawks to a 21-7 overall record and a fighting chance in the AMCC championship title game.
Stark graduates from Hilbert as the men's basketball program's all time leader in free throw percentage (84.7%) and in games played (109). He was honored with a pair of All-Conference selections, having garnered a spot on the AMCC First Team in 2014 and a Second Team honor in 2015. Stark led the team to the program's first-ever back-to-back AMCC championship games in 2014 and again in 2015.
He is a three-time AMCC Academic All-Conference selection and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Student-Athlete Academic Honor Society in 2014. Additionally, Stark was named to the 2014 NABC Honors Court for his contribution on the court and for his academic achievements in the classroom.
Stark, junior Evan Kupfreberg (New York University) and sophomore Grant Greenberg (Saint Mary, KS) are joined by senior Daniel Wohl (Williams), senior Michael Cohen (Pomona Pitzer) and junior Ryan Frankel (MIT).
