The AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week features 4-0 Pitt-Bradford traveling to Erie, PA to take on the 2-2 Penn State Behrend Lions on Saturday afternoon.
Pitt-Bradford is off to their best start in program history, winning 11 of their first 12 games of the season. They are currently third in the nation in scoring offense at 107.8 points per game. The Panthers are led by senior wing Jamarion Butler, who leads the AMCC with 22.8 points per game and is sixth in rebounding at 7.1 per contest. Freshman guard Braylen Salters has added 18.2 point per game, while Jeremy Rodriguez, Rodd Yarbrough and Jesse Laster all average double figures, as well.
Behrend enters Saturday’s contest fourth in the conference standings with a 2-2 record in AMCC play and 7-6 overall record. Senior Tommy DiRienzo leads the team and is currently seventh in the AMCC in scoring with 17.7 points per game. Matthew McDonough tallies 15.5 points per game for second on the team, while Mason Blankenberg (9.8 ppg) sits third on the Lions. On the glass, DiRienzo collects a team-high 5.2 rebounds per game, followed by Blankenberg’s 5.1 rebounds per game. McDonough dishes out a team-leading 2.3 assists per game. As a team, the Lions are currently second in the conference in free throw percentage (74.5) and third in three point percentage (35.0).
