PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona C Cam Gardner-Nicholson had two excellent performances in a 1-1 week for the Lions, including an historic game on Thursday. In Thursday night's home loss to AMCC opponent Franciscan, he set two new Penn State Altoona men's basketball program single-game records by grabbing 22 rebounds and blocking eight shots. Gardner-Nicholson also scored 18 points in that game for his fifth double-double of the season, as he also added two assists. In Saturday's win at conference foe D'Youville, he finished with 11 points, six rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and one assist. On the week, the junior averaged 14.5 points per game, 14.0 rebounds per game, 5.5 blocks per game, 1.5 assists per game, and 1.0 steal per game.
BEST OF THE REST: Franciscan G Sean Hickey led the Barons to a 2-0 week in AMCC action as he averaged 22.0 points per game and shot 55.2% from the floor, including eight rebounds and seven 3-pointers for the week...D'Youville G Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden began the week with 26 points and eight rebounds against RIT in a one-point loss to the Tigers, and then on Saturday against Penn State-Altoona, he played 38 of 40 minutes, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds...PS-Behrend F Justin Gorny was the leading scorer in a pair of wins for the Lions this week, as he averaged 20.5 points and 7.5 rebounds, while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor, including a season-best 23 points in the win over Pitt-Greensburg...La Roche G Zach Gould averaged 17 points and hit 11 three-pointers in two conference wins, including an impressive 7-for-9 from long range in a victory over Medaille...Pit-Bradford G Reggie Rogers helped the Panthers return to the win column in their 2019 AMCC debut, dropping a game-best 20 points on 7-16 shooting and 4-8 from three-point range Saturday against third-place Mount Aloysius, as his clutch defense came up big for the Panthers, stripping the the ball from his opponent in the final 11 seconds of the game to secure the win for the Panthers...Pitt-Greensburg G Cam Seigfreid notched his fifth 20-point performance this past Saturday at Behrend, scoring a game-high 25 points to lead the Bobcats, tying a season-high with four three-pointers.
