MEN'S GOLF SET FOR AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
The AMCC Men's Golf Championship is set to tee off on Monday, October 14 at Butler Country Club in Butler, PA to determine the 2024 AMCC men's golf champion.
The AMCC Men's Golf Championship is set to tee off on Monday, October 14 at Butler Country Club in Butler, PA to determine the 2024 AMCC men's golf champion. Penn State Altoona has won three straight conference championships and will be looking for their fourth staight, and ninth overall, conference title.
The Altoona Lions boast five golfers in the AMCC top ten scoring averages. Penn State Altoona sophomore Nicky Riscica leads the AMCC with a 73.25 scoring average. Mount Aloysius College sophomore Josh Nicholl is right behind him in second with a 73.38 while Penn State Altoona junior Peter Nusbaum is third with a 73.63, and Mountie freshman Ethan Batstone ranks fourth with a 74.63 average. Finishing out the top five scoring leaders is Pitt-Greensburg junior Zachary Abdallah with a 75.88.
La Roche University's Josh Kapcin ranks sixth in the conference with a 76.00 average. Penn State Altoona holds down the next three spots with Andrew Bruce (76.50), Joey Sabol (76.63), and Nick Helsley (76.88), while Mount Aloysius freshman Viktor Cussil rounds out the top 10 with a 77.86 average.
Penn State Altoona leads the way as a team with a 297.5 team scoring average. Mount Aloysius is second with a 302.38 and Pitt-Greensburg sits in third with a 313 team average.
The tournament is a two day, 36 hole, stroke play event. Monday's first pairings will tee off at 10:00am.
Tuesday's action will commence at 9:00am, with pairings determined by the Day One results. The tournament team champion will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which will be held May 20-23 in Pennfield, NY.
