MOUNT ALOYSIUS CLAIMS FIRST MEN'S GOLF TITLE IN PROGRAM HISTORY
Mount Aloysius College made program history on Tuesday afternoon, capturing their first-ever AMCC Men's Golf Championship at Toftrees Golf Resort in State College, PA.
After finishing Day 1 in second place with a team score of 311, the Mounties delivered under pressure, posting a 302 on Day 2 — the lowest team score of the round — to finish at +37 and claim the conference title.
Pitt-Greensburg finished in second place with a team score of 624, with Penn State Altoona finishing third with a 631. Pitt-Bradford was fourth with a 644, Penn State Behrend came in fifth with a 647 and La Roche University sixth with a 714. Hilbert College and Carlow University rounded out the field with team scores of 722 and 771, respectively.
Individually, Mount Aloysius sophomore Josh Nicholl was the top finisher and crowned the individual medalist. Nicholl carded rounds of 75 on day one and an even-par 72 on Day 2, for a two day total of 147.
Pitt-Bradford's Evan Steffen finished in second place with rounds of 75 and 74 for a final score of 149. Mount's Trent Willis earned a third place finish after shooting a 74 on Monday and a 76 on Tuesday, carding a 150 after the two days. Penn State Altoona's Andrew Bruce was fourth with a 152, while Hilbert College's Gabe Prohaska finshed fifth with a two-day total of 153.
Mount Aloysius will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which will be held May 12-15, 2026 in at Mission Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL.
