PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona JR Jared Wood posted a trio of top-eight finishes -- including one first place -- in three events last week. In Monday's Penn State Behrend Invitational at Lake View Country Club, Wood finished with a 78 to tie for fourth place individually and help the Lions to a fifth place team finish. In the La Roche College Fall Invitational last Tuesday at Wildwood Golf Club, Penn State Altoona tied for third place as Wood again led the way by tying for eighth place with an 80. Wood had his best showing of the week in Sunday's Mount Aloysius College Invitational at Ebensburg Country Club, placing first individually and matching his season-low score of 72. The Lions also won that event as a team.
BEST OF THE REST: Pitt-Greensburg SR Marty Sholtis shot a career best 75 to finish 2nd overall at the Mount Aloysius Invitational...Hilbert SR Ryan Ratajczak continued to pace the Hawks with back-to-back 81's this week during a three-match week...PS-Behrend SO Ryan Matlock was the individual medalist at the Spartan Shootout, carding a low score of 82, while also tallying an 80 at the Behrend Invitational on Monday...Medaille SR Austin Ford had a 84 average for the week in three rounds, highlighted by a T-3rd place finish at the Spartan Shootout on Friday...D'Youville FR Harrison Wright has finished as the top Spartan golfer in every match this season.
