BEHREND SELECTED TO DEFEND AMCC TITLE

Receiving five of ten first place votes, Penn State Behrend is selected to successfully defend their AMCC title in 2015, according to the AMCC coaches. Medaille College was voted to finish second and La Roche College likely to take third.

Franciscan University sophomore forward Leo Herrmann has been tabbed as the AMCC Pre-Season Offensive Player of the Year. Herrmann is coming off of a stellar freshman campaign where he was named the ECAC South Rookie of the Year, AMCC Newcomer of the Year, and was tabbed first team all-conference. He finished the 2014 season second in the AMCC with 15 goals and was fourth in the conference with 33 points. He led the Barons in goals and points and scored two game-winning goals.

Medaille senior defender Michael Jackson was selected as the AMCC Pre-Season Defensive Player of the Year. Jackson was named to the first team 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's All-Great Lakes Region Team. In addition, he was named first team all-conference and was a second team Upper 90's selection. As the anchor of the Mavericks defense, he scored two goals, including the double overtime, game-winner in the AMCC semifinals.

The AMCC Championship will be held November 7 at the site of the highest remaining seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
