The AMCC men's soccer conference schedule kicks off this weekend, with two of the consistently top three teams in the conference going head to head. Penn State Behrend is the AMCC defending champion, with nine total crowns under their belts, while the Mounties took home a title in 2015.
Mount Aloysius, the winners of three straight, is currently 4-3 overall as they enter conference play on Saturday afternoon. Senior MF Joshua Devlin leads the Mounties, and is tied for second in the conference, with five goals on the season. Sophomore MF Pau Aran has also chipped in with three goals. Sophomore MG Joshua Christie is tied for tops in the league with four assists. Goal keeper James Eyre has only given up five goals on the season, compling a .773 save percentage, good for third in the league.
The Lions have started the season hot, as they have raced to a 6-0 record to open up this fall. Freshman F Jordan Floyd leads the conference with six goals and 13 points. Junior F Richard Blanchard is tied for first in the AMCC with four helpers, while junior M Michael DiCola has added threee. Keeper Matt Warnaka ranks second in the AMCC with a 1.20 goals-against average and leads the way with five wins.
