After the 2020 soccer season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AMCC men’s soccer student-athletes and coaches look forward to the start of a new season. Medaille College and Penn State Behrend have been selected as preseason favorites, tying for the top spot in preseason rankings, while Mount Aloysius College is expected to finish in third.
Penn State Behrend senior forward Logan Brinsky and Pitt-Bradford senior midfielder/forward Chase Rider have been selected as Preseason Offensive Co-Players of the Year.
Brinsky scored nine goals in 2018 including the game-winner in the first round of the NCAA tournament against Lycoming. He was injured in 2019 and looks forward to returning to the field healthy in 2021.
Rider Scored 10 goals for the Panthers in his sophomore campaign (2019), the fifth-best tally in the conference. He was sixth in the conference with shots on goal with 30 and added three assists.
Penn State Behrend Senior midfielder Christian Eckberg has been named the AMCC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Eckberg has started every game at center midfield while at Behrend. He has received multiple AMCC all conference awards and is expected to once again anchor the lion’s midfield.
The AMCC Championship will be held November 6 at the site of the highest remaining seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
