The AMCC Men's Soccer Game of the Week features the 6-0 Medaille College Mavericks and the 5-1 Mount Aloysius College Mounties.
Medaille enters the weekend 6-0 in conference play. They are 10-3-1 overall. The Mavs are tied for first place in the AMCC with Penn State-Behrend who also has a 6-0 conference record. In their most recent win over Pitt-Bradford, the Mavericks won 4-2. Freshman Ander Castillo leads the Mavericks in goals this season with 19, putting him in second place in the AMCC. He is also in second place in points with 40. Freshman Charlie Stewart is second in goals for the Mavericks with five. Goalkeeper Dante Gesamondo has been playing lights out with seven wins and one tie. He has only allowed three goals in all nine games he has played in. Gesamondo is currently leading the AMCC in save percentage with a .929 and in goals against.
Mount Aloysius is seeking their fifth straight victory, heading into Saturday's matchup. Each of their four victories in the winning streak have been by four or more goals against conference opponents. The Mounties are looking to finish the season strong with two more AMCC games. Freshman forward Juan Camacho leads the offense, as he has scored a team-high seven goals, including five in his last three games. Sophomore GK Luke Priestley has led the charge on defense that has seen three of the Mounties' last four opponents get shutout. Mount Aloysius and Medaille are currently tied for second in the AMCC in goals against, with each team only allowing four total goals in conference play.
Medaille and Mount Aloysius last squared off in 2019 at the Mavs’ home field. The Mavericks came out on top with a 3-0 victory. Senior Jack Napier was one of the goal-scorers.
