No. 1 Penn State Behrend and No. 2 Mount Aloysius College each earned victories in the AMCC Men's Soccer Semifinals to advance to the AMCC Championship game slated for Saturday afternoon. Behrend picked up the 4-0 win over No. 4 Pitt-Greensburg, while the Mounties defeated No. 3 Alfred State College 4-1.
Penn State Behrend 4, Pitt-Greensburg 0
Behrend senior D Zak Schwarzel tallied a pair of goals to lead the No. 1 Penn State Behrend men's soccer team past No. 4 Pitt-Greensburg 4-0 in the 2022 AMCC semifinals on Wednesday afternoon. Schwarzel netted his first goals of the season for the Lions, the game winner and an insurance goal in the second half. The eventual game winner came in the 16th minute off a direct kick that bounced in front of the goal and in for a 1-0 lead. The Bobcats fired off the first two shots of the game and Behrend took the next 29 of the game. The Lions second-half goals all came within five minutes. Senior D Justin LeDonne made it 2-0 at the 51:25 mark with a header off a pass from Andrew Cassano that resulted from a corner kick. Schwarzel got his second goal off a pass from Blake Cooper two minutes later. Cooper registered his second assist in the 57th minute on a pass to Jac Caputo, as Caputo fired a shot from 30-yards out for his first collegiate goal. Senior GK Sam York played all 90 minutes, making two saves including a diving stop in the first few minutes off a shot by the Bobcats. Pitt-Greensburg GK Danny Rodgers made 11 saves for the Bobcats, keeping them in the game in the first half

Mount Aloysius 4, Alfred State 1
The No. 2 Mount Aloysius men's soccer team defeated No. 3 Alfred State 4-1 in Wednesday's playoff match. Ten minutes into the match, the Mounties opened up the scoring with a goal from sophomore M/F Juan Camacho, his seventh of the season. Fifteen minutes later, Mount Aloysius scored again on a Jonathan Fernandez goal, putting the Mounties up 2-0 going into halftime. Fifteen minutes into the half, sophomore M/F Louis Bez knocked in a free kick goal for the Mounties putting them up 3-0. The Pioneers surrendered a penalty kick goal by Camacho in the 65 minute, before knocking in a goal of their own in the 66. Michael Bupp scored the lone goal for Alfred State from short range, putting the Pioneers on the board.
Behrend and Mount Aloysius return to action on Saturday, as Behrend will host the Mounties in the AMCC Championship at 1 p.m.
