The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team travels to Cresson, PA on Saturday to take on the Mount Aloysius College Mounties in the AMCC men's soccer Game of the Week. Behrend enters the game 3-0 in conference play, while the Mounties are 3-1.
Behrend has begun conference play 3-0, most recently defeating Pitt-Bradford by a score of 5-0 on Wednesday. Blake Cooper recorded a first half hat trick, while seniors Chris Profaca and John Ziobro scored their first goals of the season. Johnathan Swann and Dylan Akut dished out assists and goalkeeper Anthony Scalise earned his second straight shutout. Cooper leads the Lions and sits tied for third in the AMCC rankings with seven goals, followed by Owen Petersen’s four and Andrew Cassano’s two scores. Junior midfielder Jac Caputo has tallied a team-high three assists. Scalise has made 24 saves in six starts so far this season, while fellow goalkeeper Evan Dougal has picked up two wins in five starts.
The Mountie men's soccer team is heading into the weekend on a three-game winning streak. During the three game stretch, they have outscored opponents 24-1. They are led on offense by senior M Louis Bez and senior F Juan Camacho. Bez currently leads the AMCC in total points (27) and assists (11), while ranking second in goals scored. He also leads all of Division III in assists, through Wednesday. Camacho leads the AMCC in goals, with nine, bringing his career total to 38. He ranks 18th in Division III on the career scoring list. Defensively, they are led by junior D Manuel Prats and sophomore D Martin Donner. They have helped the Mounties to four shutouts on the season, while Donner has scored four times, helping the high-powered Mountie offense. The Mounties will host Penn State Behrend for just the second time since 2018.
