The Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team has been selected by league coaches to defend their AMCC title from a season ago. Mount Aloysius College is expected to finish in second place, with Alfred State College rounding out the top three.
Alfred State senior M Henry Leahy has been named the AMCC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Leahy was an AMCC first team all-conference selection in 2024. He finished the season third in the AMCC in assists with four. Leahy recorded four goals scored, including two game-winning goals, tallying 13 total points.
Behrend sophomore GK Anthony Scalise has been tabbed as the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Scalise was a second team all-conference selection last season, while also being named to the Academic All-AMCC team. Scalise started 14 games in net during his debut season. He led the conference with seven shutouts and was second in save percentage (.794) and goals-against average (0.90). He was third in the conference in victories (six) and minutes played (1294:05), while finishing with a team-high 46 saves.
The AMCC Championship will be held November 8 at the site of the highest remaining seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
