FRANCISCAN, PITT-GREENSBURG ADVANCE TO FINALS OF MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

Top seed and defending champion Franciscan University defeated #4 Penn St. Altoona, 5-0, while #2 Pitt-Greensburg downed #3 Pitt-Bradford, 5-1, to advance to the finals of the AMCC tournament.  The championship match will start at 11:30am at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA.

Franciscan did not drop a set against the Lions, sweeping all three doubles matches as well as #1 and #4 singles.  Pitt-Greensburg was a 6-3 winner over Pitt-Bradford in the regular season, and the tournament match proved to be just as competitive, with the Bobcats prevailing in all doubles and #1 and #3 singles while the Panthers won #6 singles.  The Barons swept Pitt-Greensburg, 9-0, on April 5.

The tournament winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.
