AMCC ANNOUNCES SPRING SPORTSMANSHIP TEAM

All institution sport teams which compete for an AMCC championship may select one member from their team who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the All-AMCC Sportsmanship Team. These individuals are selected by vote of their teammates.

After recording successful seasons in each of their spring sports, Penn State Behrend held on strong to their lead for another Presidents Cup title.

MEN'S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM ANNOUNCED, FRANCISCAN'S HAFFNER EARNS PLAYER OF THE YEAR HONORS

Franciscan University sophomore Jake Haffner has been named the 2018 AMCC Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Haffner completed a perfect 5-0 AMCC season at No. 1 singles, going 11-8 overall. The sophomore also went undefeated with a  5-0 record at the No. 1 doubles position.

Conrad went 3-0 throughout the AMCC men's tennis semifinals and championship matches over the weekend. Conrad earned the clinching point in the championship match against Behrend to give Franciscan the AMCC conference title.

The Franciscan University men's tennis team tasted victory in the AMCC championship match for the sixth straight year.

Top seeded Franciscan University and #2 Penn St. Behrend will face off for the fourth year in a row for the AMCC men's tennis championship on Sunday.

FRANCISCAN EARNS TOP SEED FOR MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

The AMCC men's tennis championship tournament opens up this weekend at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA when #1 Franciscan University takes on #4 Pitt-Greensburg at 3:30 p.m. The second semifinal game, between #2 Penn State Behrend and #3 Penn State Altoona, will take place immediately after the first contest. The championship match will be at 11:30am on Sunday, April 22.

Haffner won every singles and doubles match this week, concluding a perfect 5-0 season in both AMCC doubles and singles. Haffner helped clinch the No. 1 seed for the Barons with a 6-1, 6-3 win in No. 1 singles against Penn St.-Behrend.

Gallagher did not drop a game against an AMCC opponent as picked up 6-0, 6-0 victories at the No. 3 singles positions against UPG and won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. He was also victorious over UPB with the same scores. Despite dropping his matches, Gallagher won seven games off nationally ranked #20 Case Western Reserve.

D3 WEEK DAY 2: TEAM PEAK PERFORMERS ANNOUNCED

Russell was undefeated in both singles and doubles action in three matches this weekend. He tallied a pair of wins at No. 2 singles and another at No. 1 singles against Pitt-Greesnburg. At No. 2, he battled to win three-set matches. Russell also paired up with Yanique Apgar for three doubles wins at the top spot.

Dharbhamulla went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles in Penn State Altoona's wins over AMCC opponents Pitt-Bradford and Pitt-Greensburg this past weekend. In Saturday's 7-2 win at Pitt-Bradford, he won 6-0, 7-5 in No. 2 singles and triumphed 8-0 in No. 2 doubles. In Sunday's 9-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg, Parag won 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles and prevailed 8-2 in No. 1 doubles.

Russell went undefeated in four straight matches in both doubles and singles. He only gave up 18 sets in singles action at the second spot and then teamed with Yanique Apgar for four wins at No. 1 doubles.

Dugan was instrumental in the Panthers earning their first victory of the season, 5-4, over Alfred Friday. Dugan picked up a convincing win in No. 2 singles while also teaming up with Jacob Volz for a victory in the top doubles spot.

Apgar went 2-0 against Waynesburg at the top spot in both doubles and singles. He posted an 8-4 win in singles and tallied an 8-3 decision with Brenden Dollar at No. 1 doubles.
