PENN STATE BEHREND, ALTOONA ADVANCE TO AMCC MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
The No. 1 Penn State Behrend men's tennis team and No. 2 Penn State Altoona both earned victories in the AMCC Semifinals to advance to the AMCC Division Championship slated for Sunday at 1:30pm. The Behrend Lions earned a 4-0 semifinals win over No. 4 Pitt-Greensburg while No. 2 Penn State Altoona earned a 4-0 victory over #3 Mount Aloysius College.

The Lions earned the doubles point, thanks to a 6-0 win at No. 2 from Paul Flick and Carson Souser and a No. 3 victory from the team Vitaliy Pikalo and Luke Vunora. Souser registered a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles for the first singles point and a 2-0 lead. Flick would go on to sweep at No. 5 singles against Bobcats' Sam Vogel (6-0, 6-0) for a 3-0 advantage. Pikalo earned the deciding point of Saturday's match, defeating Ryan Cole at No. 3 singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-0.
Behrend is headed to its fifth straight conference championship, seeking its fifth straight and 111th overall title
No. 2 Penn State Altoona 4, Mount Aloysius 0
The Lions put together a convincing win over Mount Aloysius in Saturday's AMCC semifinal contest, as Penn State Altoona did not lose a set on the day.
The Lions got the first match point following their victories in doubles. In No. 2 doubles, Wilhelm Grot and Ivan Bene defeated their opponents 6-1 for their ninth win together. The Lions got their second point of doubles by walkover in the No. 3 match. Since AMCC playoffs are played to decision, the doubles ended after Penn State Altoona won two doubles matches.
The Lions got three quick three wins in singles play to close out the match with a 4-0 victory. The first point came courtesy of a walkover in the No. 6 match. Jackson Newell blanked his opponent 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 match for his 14th win. Gabriel Lopez clinched the match victory with his 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 3 singles. The win is Lopez's 11th of the season.
No. 1 Penn State Behrend and No. 2 Penn State Altoona will face off for the AMCC Championship tomorrow, Sunday, April 18, at 1:30 p.m. in Erie. The winner of that match moves on to play the Atlantic East conference champion on Sunday, May 3, for the joint AMCC-Atlantic East championship.
