Hilbert College outside hitter Adam Weaver and Medaille College right side hitter Trevor Barrett are shining for the AMCC on the national stage with the announcement that the pair has been named to the AVCA Men's Volleyball All-America Team.
AMCC Player of the Year Weaver, who will be announced as the Division III national leader in both kills per set (5.03 k/s) and points per set (5.86 p/s) once all national stats are posted as 'Final', becomes only the second student-athlete at Hilbert College to be named to a national All-America team. The senior, who led the Hawks to the program's most successful season in 2014 while posting personal season/career numbers on the court, was named to a two-man honorable mention team after the 14-man first team and 14-man second team were announced Monday.
Barrett became the sixth-ever Medaille College men's volleyball player to take All-America honors. He capped off his career with two all-conference team selections and second team All-America honors. The senior led his team to a 17-9 season, including a 13 game winning-streak, making it to the UVC Quarterfinals. Trevor has become the all-time leader in kills after becoming the seventh Maverick to break 1,000. He led his team with 382 kills in the 2014 season and was also third in digs with 167.
