The AMCC Men's Volleyball Game of the Week features Geneva College at Hiram College on Wednesday evening. The two teams, both with 3-1 records, sit in a four-way tie for second place in conference standings.
The Geneva men’s volleyball team is looking to rebound from its first conference loss of the season it suffered on Saturday at Penn State Behrend. The Golden Tornadoes have been battling a couple key injuries the past month that has challenged the depth on their squad. Geneva and Hiram have squared off twice this season already, with each team winning one match by a 3-1 score. Both of these squads are among the five teams at the top of the AMCC conference within one game of first place, so tonight’s winner will be in good position to qualify for the AMCC playoffs at the end of the regular season.
Hiram men’s volleyball will look to win its third straight conference game when it hosts the Golden Tornadoes on Wednesday at Price Gymnasium. The Terriers have already won 13 games this season, which is their second-most wins in a single season in program history (20 in 2022). The team has been led again by Kyle Martini – the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week this past week – who ranks first on the team in kills (212) and total blocks (56) this season. Martini posted career-highs in attack percentage (.588) and service aces (four) in his last game against Wells on Saturday. Hiram has a 5-4 record at home, which includes notable wins over Wittenberg and Mount Union.
