Hiram College will be traveling to Erie, PA on Saturday afternoon to take on the Lions of Penn State Behrend in the AMCC Men's Volleyball Game of the Week.
Hiram men’s volleyball enters play on Saturday riding a four-game winning streak, three of which have come in conference play. The team has won 15 of its 20 sets played this season, and has a chance on Saturday to match its conference win total from all of last season. Kyle Martini leads the team with 238 kills, while Jackson Deubner has recorded 12 kills in each of his last three matches. Matthew Albano is now 15 assists away from 800 on the season; his 785 assists is already a career-high for a single season.
Before the match, Penn State Behrend seniors Owen Wienczkowski, Logan Hering, Alex Jackson and Joshua Elegeer will be recognized as part of the Senior Day ceremonies. The foursome has helped the Lions to a 55-37 overall record and a 33-8 mark in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). Last Saturday, Jackson reached 2,000 career assists by dishing out 33 helpers vs. Saint Vincent. Behrend is coming off a 3-0 win over Wells on Wednesday night. Against the Express, Daniel Easly had a career-high 15 kills and led the team with eight digs. Easly knocked down the last five kills of set three to help the Lions sweep Wells. Kevin Skweres matched a season-best seven kills. The Lions are currently fourth in the AMCC standings with a 4-2 record
