Farabaugh continued his strong start to the 2024 season in the Lions' tri-match split with non-conference opponents Elizabethtown and Lancaster Bible on Saturday. Farabaugh helped power Penn State Altoona to its first win of the season, a 3-1 victory over Elizabethtown, by finishing with a career-high 22 kills. In a 3-1 loss to Lancaster Bible later in the day, he recorded 16 points on 14 kills, two block assists, and a service ace. On the week, Farabaugh totaled 38 points (4.8 points per set) and 36 kills (4.5 kills per set) while swinging at a .260 attack percentage.

BEST OF THE REST: Geneva MB Carter Milroy had a strong opening week of the season, finishing with 64 kills (3.37 k/s) over Geneva's first five matches, on a .247 hitting percentage. He played all six rotations and totaled 66 digs (3.47 d/s) to go with 15 blocks (0.79 b/s) and five aces (0.26 sa/s), finishing the week averaging 4.1 points per set...Saint Vincent RS Shawn McSwiggen averaged 3.81 kills with a .218 hitting percentage over four matches. McSwiggen recorded 11 kills in Friday's win over Chatham, 15 in the Friday win over Geneva, 14 in a four-set loss to Hiram on Saturday and 21 in a five-set loss to Thiel, he also totaled nine aces, four blocks and 31 digs over the weekend...PS-Behrend MH Owen Wienczkowski tallied 23 kills over three matches this past weekend for the Lions, as he had a match-high nine kills with a .750 attack percentage against Kean on Saturday,while also adding seven blocks and one ace...Thiel OPP Will Zimmerman led the Tomcats to a 2-1 week with 28 kills, 15 digs, four blocks and two service aces, boasting a hitting percentage of .400, including .909 against Bethany on Saturday...Mount Aloysius OH Andrew Wlodarczyk averaged 4.00 kills per set in two matches for the Mounties, leading the team to a 1-1 record across the weekend. Wlodarczyk was responsible for a team-high 3.2 points per set for the Mounties, carrying a .182 attack percent average across the two matches...Hilbert OH Brad Converse had a strong showing for the Hawks in the first two matches of the season, as he notched 19 kills, hitting .250, while also adding three aces, four total blocks and receiving at .947 on 19 total receptions...Carlow OH Russ Cyprowski led the Celtics with an average 3.10 kills overall last week and 4.33 against Geneva in conference action.
