PENN ST. BEHREND LOOKING FOR SIXTH STRAIGHT MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TITLE
The AMCC Championships will take place on Saturday, October 31 at Penn St. Behrend. The AMCC championship meet will take place on Saturday, October 31 at Penn St. Behrend. The women's race will begin at 11am. All teams will have the opportunity to participate in the NCAA Division III Regional Meet on Saturday, November 14 hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School in Newville, PA.
Penn State Behrend, winners of the past five AMCC men's cross country titles, remains the strong favorite as the AMCC runners head into the 2016 championship meet this Sunday, October 30 at Pitt-Johnstown.
Lion junior Dylan Buffington, the 2014 AMCC Newcomer of the Year, has been nothing short of dominant in 2016. Buffington was a four-time AMCC runner of the week and holds three of the top four 8K race times throughout the conference this fall. Both the Lions and Buffington claimed first place finishes at three of the four races they competed in this season, including the Westminster, Behrend, and Houghton Invitationals.
Franciscan Unversity freshman Matthew Crotteau is the only runner in the top ten 8K race times that is not from Behrend. Crotteau finished in 27:06.5 at the Oberlin College Invitational, which was the ninth-fastest time in the AMCC this fall.
The AMCC Championships will take place on Sunday, October 30 at Pitt-Johnstown, with the men's race beginning at 12 p.m. All teams will have the opportunity to participate in the NCAA Division III Regional Meet on Saturday, November 12 hosted by DeSales University in Center Valley, PA.
