Franciscan University junior Liam Galligan won his third straight AMCC cross country title as he led the Barons to their second consecutive conference championship.
With 26 points, Franciscan claimed the top team spot, while Penn State Behrend was second with 34 points, and Alfred State College rounded out the top three with 91 points.
The Franciscan men came to run on Saturday morning, as they dominated the competition and ran away with back-to-back conference titles. Baron junior Liam Galligan led the way as he won the AMCC Championship individually for the third year in a row with a time of 24:42.6. Galligan's time also beat the all-time AMCC championship record. Miguel Daez ran a season best 25:33.8 to give him a second place finish. Mark Borek completed the podium with a time of 25:45.9 to place third. Matthew Crotteau ran a season best 26:22.6 to give him a seventh place finish, and Danny Donovan rounded out the Franciscan top five with a time of 27:31.9 to finish in 13th. This was enough for the Barons to hold off host Penn St. Behrend and win back-to-back AMCC Championships.
Junior Phoenix Myers was the top runner for the Lions, coming in fourth place with a time of 26:01.4. Seven Behrend runners were named AMCC All-Conference performers for finishing in the Top-15.
All AMCC teams are eligible to run in the NCAA III Mid-East Regional Meet in Bethlehem, Pa. on November 16th at 11 am. Qualifying runners will then advance to the NCAA Championship meet on November 23 in Louisville, KY.
