FRANCISCAN'S GALLIGAN QUALIFIES FOR NCAA'S
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team finished in 10th place out of 51 teams at the NCAA Mid-East Regional on Saturday morning, while Franciscan University claimed 13th place.
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team finished in 10th place out of 51 teams at the NCAA Mid-East Regional on Saturday morning, while Franciscan University claimed 13th place. Franciscan junior Liam Galligan led all AMCC runners with a 25:00.5, earning him ninth place out of 360 runners, and a trip to Louisville next weekend in the NCAA National meet.
Carneige Mellon University led the way with a team score of 55 points with all their runners placing in the top fifteen. Patrick Watson from Stevenson University claimed the individual title with a time of 24:24.4 in the 8k race.
Penn State Behrend had their best NCAA Regional finish in program history, taking home 10th place with a team score of 340 out of 51 teams. Phoenix Myers finished in 32nd place overall, qualifying him for All-Region honors, as he finished with a time of 25:41.3 for a career-best for the Lions. Zach Wortman came in closely behind Myers with a 43rd place finish and 26:00.5 time
Franciscan's Mark Borek earned a spot on the all regional team by placing 33rd with a time 25:42.9.
