BEHREND MXC GOES BACK-TO-BACK; ASC'S BATHGATE DEFENDS INDIVIDUAL TITLE
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team won the AMCC conference team title Saturday morning, on the campus of Alfred State College, earning their 13th team title in program history.
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team won the AMCC conference team title Saturday morning, on the campus of Alfred State College, earning their 13th team title in program history. The victory marked their second straight conference title. Alfred State junior Gavin Bathgate defended his individual title, crossing the 8K finish line first in 29:25.01.
With 20 points, Behrend took first in the team competition, while Alfred State came in second with 40 points. Medaille College finished third with 61 points while Mount Aloysius College was fourth with 89 points. Individual runners from Hilbert College, Pitt-Greensburg, and La Roche University also competed.
The Behrend Lions took the next six spots at the finish line, as Behrend senior Phoenix Myers finished in second with a time of 29:47.63. Sophomore Aiden Domencic came in third with a 30:32.74 and FR Chris Annear was fourth with 30:45.08. Rounding out the top five was Lion freshman Kody Klein who finished in 31:01.61.
The NCAA Regionals will take place on November 13 in Castile, NY at Letchworth State Park. The NCAA Division III Championship Race will be held in Louisville, KY at E.P "Tom" Sawyer State Park on November 20.
