LA ROCHE SOFTBALL SUPPORTS FAMILIES IN HEARTH SHELTER

The women’s softball team from La Roche College may compete in a spring sport, but they know that members of the community need help year round.  In early December the team visited Hearth, a supportive center that helps struggling mothers and provides a safe home and place to stay.

The team brought hot chocolate for the mothers and their children and they all decorated Christmas cookies to prepare for the upcoming holiday. The team spent a few hours of their day making a difference in the children’s day, spreading holiday cheer. 

“The women’s shelter was a great experience," said senior Kaylee Zozos.  "We were able to make someone’s day.  The kids were just as excited as we were.  Just playing with the kids was the best part.”

La Roche hopes to continue a relationship with the group and return for more activities in the future.
