Day two of the 2015 AMCC softball tournament has come to a close and #1 D'Youville and #2 Penn St. Behrend are the only remaining teams. Below is a recap of all games from day two of the championships.
Game 5: Mt. Aloysius 3, Penn St. Altoona 2
#5 Mt. Aloysius College defeated #3 Penn St. Altoona in an exciting 7th inning rally to start Day Two of the softball championships. The Mounties opened up the scoring in the top of the second inning with two straight errors by the Lady Lions, allowing freshman Ali Reese to score the game's first run. Later in the inning, senior Kelsey Ickes' sacrifice fly to left made it 2-0. Penn State Altoona answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the third. Junior Clarissa Keller reached on a fielding error that let senior Lily Glunt and freshman Dani Leibowitz both score, tying things up at 2-2. The Lady Lions manufactured a run in the sixth when senior Ala Miller led off with a single up the middle, moved to second on Keller's sac bunt, and later scored on Meehan's double to right that put Penn State Altoona up 3-2. But Mount Aloysius posted a rally of its own in the top of the seventh to pull ahead 4-3. With the bases loaded and one out, junior Taylor Swatsworth singled in the tying run and sophomore Alex Teeter came up with the go-ahead RBI on her base hit up the middle. With the loss, Penn St. Altoona has been eliminated from the tournament.
Game 6: La Roche 3, Pitt-Greensburg 1
#6 Pitt-Greensburg and #4 La Roche got all four runs of the game in the first inning. The Bobcats opened the scoring in the top of the first as junior Sarah Giebel started the game off with a single and eventually scored when freshman Alyssa Panza singled to left field. La Roche senior Elizabeth Palumbo got things going for the Redhawks in the bottom of the first with a lead-off single and advanced to second on a bunt by freshman Andie Lippman. Sophomore Kara Sainato doubled to center field, scoring both Palumbo and Lippman. Sainato advanced to third on senior Kaylee Zozos' single and scored when freshman Aubriatta Martin singled to center field. With the loss to La Roche, Pitt-Greensburg has been eliminated from the tournament.

The Lions got on the board in the top of the sixth when freshman Sarah Blagg singled to left field and scored on sophomore Allania Banta's single to center field. However, that is all the runs the Lions would get and it would not be enough to get past the Spartans.

#5 Mt. Aloysius put a run on the board early when junior Taylor Swatsworth singled and quickly moved around the bases, eventually scoring on a passed ball and making the score 1-0. #4 La Roche had a big fourth inning, scoring all three of their runs on four hits. Senior Elizabeth Palumbo would then smack a triple to right center, plating Lentz for the Redhawks' third run of the inning, and setting the final score. With the loss to La Roche, Mt. Aloysius has been eliminated from the tournament.
Game 9: Penn St. Behrend 6, La Roche 2
Just like most of Saturday's games, both teams struck early and put runs up on the scoreboard in the first inning. After a La Roche strikeout to start the game, the next five Redhawks would reach base with singles. Sophomore Kara Sainato scored first on freshman Aubriatta Martin's single. On the next play of the game, sophomore Anna Bruecken would also single, plating senior Kaylee Zozos. #2 Penn St. Behrend would answer back in the bottom of the first. Behrend would score again in the bottom of the second inning when sophomore Kelsey Heinrich doubled down the left field line and would later score on a Sarah Blagg single. Behrend would add two more runs in the third inning when Lion sophomore Shannon McDonnell singled through the left side and would eventually score when sophomore Julia Luke also connected on a single.
