Heading into the final week of regular season play, the AMCC softball game of the week features two teams battling it out for the final playoff spot. Sixth place Pitt-Bradford (15-22, 7-9 AMCC) travels to seventh place Mount Aloysius College (16-18, 6-10 AMCC) as both teams are battling it out to continue their seasons into the postseason. Pitt-Bradford needs to win just one game to advance to the conference tournament, while the Mounties need to sweep the series.
The Panthers are led offensively by sophomore outfielder, and current AMCC Player of the Week, Grace Dazdaa, who ranks fourth in the AMCC with a .411 batting and leads the conference with 25 stolen bases. Freshman utility player Madison East also adds some punch to the Panther line-up, as she leads the league with 31 RBI and is tied for third with three home runs on the season. Freshman pitcher Morgan Bellush, who picked up a no-hitter against Franciscan University, has a 2.68 ERA and 26 strikeouts.
The Mount Aloysius softball team will enter Sunday's conference doubleheader against visiting Pitt-Bradford searching for their 10th consecutive conference playoff berth. Sophomore Morgan Rackish has led the Mounties pitching staff throughout the 2017 season as she has recorded a 2.04 ERA to rank fourth in the conference while registering five wins, four complete games and 43 strikeouts. Offensively, the Mounties have been led by a trio of freshmen in outfielder Courtney Link, catcher Caroline Showalter and infielder Emily Wawroski. Link leads the team with a .357 batting average, 28 runs scored and 18 RBI's. Showalter and Wawroski both have registered a .333 average at the plate to aid the Mounties offense. Mount Aloysius also leads the conference in triples with 18 as a team thus far this season.
