The AMCC softball game of the week features the Mount Aloysius Mounties and the Medaille College Mavericks. Medaille is 9-9 overall, with a 2-2 conference mark after splitting series' with Penn State Behrend and Penn State Altoona. This weekend's series will be the first league games for the Mounties.
With a 7-5 overall record, the Mounties are opening up their conference schedule with Saturday's series against Medaille. Mount Aloyisus outfielder Kayla Hopkins ranks third in the AMCC with a .500 batting average, includin 11 RBI. With 13.1 innings pitched, pitcher Nina Shatzer is tops in the conference with a 0.0 ERA while Morgan Rackish has compiled a 1.29 ERA in 16.1 innings in the circle while also earning two saves.
The Mavericks enter Saturday’s double header with Mount Aloysius with a 9-9 overall record and a 2-2 AMCC record. They split with both Penn State Altoona and Penn State Behrend. Senior outfielder Sharon Trigilio continues to lead the way for Medaille at the dish, batting .508 with a .705 slugging percentage and .559 on base percentage. Sophomore Laura Kratzke has been a work horse on the mound, winning eight games and pitching 106.2 innings. She has thrown 13 complete games in her 16 starts and currently has 103 strikeouts.
