AMCC SOFTBALL GAME OF THE WEEK: PENN ST. ALTOONA VS. HILBERT
AMCC softball teams have been battling fierce weather all spring and are entering the final stretch of the regular season. Not only are they trying to get all of their conference gamed played, but they're also trying to rise as high as they can in conference standings as the conference tournament is suddenly in sight. Due to projected weather forecasts and current field conditions, the AMCC softball game of the week between Penn State Altoona and Hilbert College will be played on the campus of Penn State Behrend Friday afternoon.

Due to projected weather forecasts and current field conditions, the AMCC softball game of the week between Penn State Altoona and Hilbert College will be played on the campus of Penn State Behrend Friday afternoon.
Penn State Altoona, coming off of a sweep over Franciscan University, enters the Game of the Week sitting in third place with a 9-5 conference mark. Freshman pitcher Emily Strouse is coming off of a stellar week where she was named AMCC Pitcher of the Week, as well as ECAC Pitcher and Rookie of the Week. Strouse is third in the conference with 11 wins on the season and carries a 2.04 ERA in 109.2 innings pitched. At the plate, short stop Haley Giedroc leads the Lions, and ranks fifth in the conference with a .419 batting average. Giedroc also sits third in the conference with 18 stolen bases and is tied for fourth with 25 RBI.
Hilbert has won three straight, including a double header sweep of Pitt-Greensburg. The Hawks are 6-5 in AMCC play and sit in fifth place in league standings. Outfielder Maia Delaney leads the Hawks at the dish with a .333 batting average, while infielder Jenna Castricone has belted in 16 RBI. In the circle, pitcher Rachel Allen is tied for fourth in the conference with seven wins while registering a 2.76 ERA and fanning 72 batters.
