PITT-BRADFORD'S PHILLIPS EARNS 300TH WIN

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team earned a sweep in a non-conference doubleheader Monday over Alfred State College.

After the win in game one, head coach Tina Phillips earned her 300^th career victory as a collegiate softball head coach. Phillips is in her 15^th season as Pitt-Bradford's softball coach and also serves as the Assistant Athletic Director. As Pitt-Bradford's head softball coach, she has earned a record of 268-264-2.

"Congratulations to Coach Phillips for this fantastic coaching milestone," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Bret Butler said. "To reach the 300-win plateau requires a lot of hard work, recruiting, teaching, ability, longevity, and love of the sport. Tina has done an excellent job in her career, and we are all very happy for her and proud of her.  We wish her many, many more!"

"300, wow. It just makes me think that I have been lucky to be at this awhile and that I have had a lot of players that helped me reach this milestone," Phillips said of her accomplishment. "It's more about them and Pitt-Bradford softball than me. Makes me think back to when I first got started at the college level back at Sage and to be here now just doing something I love and be around the game I have played for seemingly my whole life. Special thanks to my assistant coach Meagan Hillard, who has been here for a lot of these wins as both a player and a coach."
