Mount Aloysius College and Penn State Behrend have been selected by league coaches to share a piece of the top spot in conference standings in 2024. Defending AMCC champion, Penn State Altoona, is expected to round out the top three this season.
Penn State Altoona senior UTIL Cameryn Feathers has been tabbed as the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. Feathers was an AMCC first-team all-conference selection and a second-team NFCA DIII All-Region VIII pick in 2023. She led the AMCC in hits (53), total bases (85), batting average (.495), on-base percentage (.553), and slugging percentage (.794). Feathers was also second in the conference in home runs (5), third in triples (4), fourth in runs scored (35) and stolen bases (10), fifth in runs batted in (30), and sixth in doubles (9) and walks (13).
Mount Aloysius sophomore RHP Sierra Walters has been selected as the AMCC Preseason Pitcher of the Year. Walters was a AMCC first team all-conference selection in 2023. She led the AMCC with a 2.03 ERA and 1.02 ERA in AMCC play. She finished the season 8-3 overall with 70 strikeouts in 65.2 innings pitched.
The AMCC tournament kicks off on Thursday, May 9 and will conclude with the conference championship game on Saturday, May 11. All games throughout the tournament will be played at the site of the #1 seed. The AMCC champion will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
