La Roche College is expected to soar to their fourth AMCC championship, according to the AMCC coaches' preseason poll. The Redhawks earned seven first place votes, while four-time champions Medaille College picked up two first place votes and a second place finish overall. Pitt-Bradford, a finalist in 2010, is ranked third.
Mount Aloysius College senior guard Lindsy Sammarco was vote Preseason Player of the Year. Sammarco was an AMCC First-Team All-Conference selection in 2012-13. She was the Mounties' leading scorer with 17.4 points per game, and also led the team in defensive rebounding (5.3 per game), assists (3.4 per game), and steals (2.5 per game), putting her in the top 10 in eight AMCC categories
The AMCC kicks off conference play on Wednesday, December 4, and the championship will be Saturday, March 1, hosted by the number #1 seed. The tournament winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
