The La Roche College women's basketball team has drawn defending National Champion Thomas More College in an NCAA First Round Game on Friday night. The Lady Redhawks will play at Thomas More (Crestview Hills, KY) at a time that will be determined tomorrow.
Yesterday, La Roche earned their sixth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament after defeating Pitt-Bradford 82-59 in the AMCC Championship Game. This is the second year in a row the Lady Redhawks are playing a tournament game at Thomas More. Last year they matched up against Eastern Mennonite University on the Kentucky campus.
Thomas More is currently the top ranked team in the nation and earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament after defeating Washington & Jefferson 93-74 in the PAC Championship. The Saints have won sixty games in a row and are led by 2015 NCAA Player of the Year Sydney Moss.
The game matches two of the top ranked offenses in the nation. La Roche ranks third in the nation in field goal percentage, fifth in scoring margin and assists, sixth in scoring offense, and seventh in steals.
Thomas More ranks second in the nation in scoring offense and leads the country in field goal percentage, scoring margin, turnovers and assists.

The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team earned the program's 11th bid to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Tournament.
The eighth-seeded Lions (15-11), who are making their 14th overall postseason appearance, will travel to No. 1 Washington & Jefferson (22-5) in first-round action on Wednesday night. Time of the game is 7 p.m.
Behrend advanced to the ECAC South Semifinals in 2011 and 2012, but fell short of their third ECAC title. The Lions won the championship in 1991-92 and in 1995-96.
Behrend and Washington & Jefferson last met in the first round of the ECAC South Region Tournament in 2013. The Presidents pulled out a 62-59 win to improve their all-time record to 17-15 over the Lions.
