This week's AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week features two of the three unbeaten teams in conference play when Mount Aloysius College (2-4, 1-0 AMCC) travels to Pitt-Greensburg (3-5, 2-0 AMCC) Wednesday evening.
The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team enters Wednesday evening's contest at Pitt-Greensburg looking to jump out to a 2-0 start in conference play following a dominant 87-68 victory over D'Youville this past Saturday in their AMCC opener. Freshman forward Jessa Wright led the Mounties with 18 points against the Spartans, while senior forward Antwanye' Parks contributed a double-double effort of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Wright currently ranks eighth in the conference with 15 points per game and Parks is ninth in the conference with 6.8 rebounds per game. Junior guard Abby Kulick ranks second on the squad with 11.3 points per game. Mount Aloysius features a well-balanced scoring attack where eight players average at least six points per contest, and the Mounties currently rank first in the conference in team scoring with 73.5 points per game.
Pitt-Greensburg has won two straight games, picking up conference victories over Penn St. Altoona and Medaille this past week. The Bobcats will look for some offensive power from freshman forward Jenna Cole and junior guard Kelsey Oddis. Cole leads the Bobcats in scoring, and is sixth in the AMCC, with 15.5 points per game, while Oddis is right behind her at seventh in the conference with 15.0 points per game. Cole also leads the conference with 9.0 rebounds per game, while senior forward Casey Hamilton is second with 8.9.
