AMCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAME OF THE WEEK: HILBERT @ MEDAILLE

The AMCC women's basketball game of the week features the first place Hilbert College Hawks (12-5, 10-1 AMCC) and the Medaille College Mavericks (9-8, 6-4 AMCC), who is tied for third place in league standings with La Roche College. The Hawks are currently riding a seven-game AMCC win streak which dates back to December 9. They are off to the program’s fastest start as a Division III program having established new win records in both overall and AMCC records. The Mavericks have won three straight games and are on the hunt to climb in league standings as the second half of conference play is underway.
Hilbert senior guard Kelsi Ebert, who just became Hilbert’s All Time Division III Leading scorer over the past week, leads the league in assists (5.5) while averaging 14.6 ppg. Sophomore guard Emily Gawlak plays hard at both ends of the court and chips in 13.3 points per game and grabs six rebounds a game. The Hawks use a pair of post players, junior Katelyn Proy (9.7ppg/7.3 rpg/2.2 bpg) and sophomore Ashley Repine (8.9 ppg/7.7 rpg), to clean up the lane on offense and defense. Sophomore Taylor Corts (10 ppg/5 rpg) has returned to action and adds another sharp shooter on the perimeter.
Medaille senior forward Dani Reinwald has been one of the most dominant players in the AMCC this season as she currently ranks in the top ten nationally in ten separate statistical categories. Reinwald is tops in the AMCC with 16.4 rebounds per game and ranks third in scoring with 18.8 points per game. She also leads the conference with 45 blocks and is second-best with 67 steals on the season. Freshman point guard Jamsine Mott is ranks fifth with 3.4 assists per game, while forward Morgan Kennedy is third with a 50.8 field goal percentage.
Earlier in the season, Hilbert claimed a 72-48 victory over the Mavericks.
