The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team will be traveling to Altoona, PA on Wednesday evening to take on the Penn State Altoona Lions in the AMCC Game of the Week. The Bobcats and Lions, each with a 2-0 AMCC record, are in a three-way tie with La Roche University for first place in conference standings.

The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team will be traveling to Altoona, PA on Wednesday evening to take on the Penn State Altoona Lions in the AMCC Game of the Week. The Bobcats and Lions, each with a 2-0 AMCC record, are in a three-way tie with La Roche University for first place in conference standings.
The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team is coming into its matchup against Penn State Altoona winning it's first two conference games against Hilbert and Alfred State. The Bobcats had a thrilling victory against the Pioneers, With freshman Madison Scalese securing an offensive rebound and hitting two free throws with just over a second left to win the game. Senior point guard Sidney McCully has been the leader for the Bobcats, as she comes into this game as AMCC Player of the Week. McCully is averaging 20 points, 9.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists in conference play thus far. In addition to McCully, Melina Maietta averages 17.2 points per game.
Penn State Altoona women’s basketball enters Wednesday night’s home game against conference foe Pitt-Greensburg having won each of its first two AMCC contests. Two freshmen have helped spearhead the Lions’ successes early in the season, as forward Avana Sayles and guard Jess Burns are off to strong starts to their first years with the team. Sayles is fourth in the AMCC in rebounds per game (8.4), fifth in total rebounds (101) and field goals made (75), and ninth in points per game (14.0), while Burns is first in three-point field goal percentage (44.2), third in total field goal percentage (47.1), fourth in three-pointers made (23), eighth in assists (35), and 13th in points per game (12.1). Senior guards Sarah Huston and Emma Kitko have also made strong contributions for the team this season. Huston leads the AMCC in steals (44) and free throw percentage (87.5) while being sixth in three-point field goal percentage (34.5), eighth in free throws made (35), ninth in three-pointers made (19), and 15th in points per game (11.3), and Kitko is 10th in the league in three-pointers made (19) and three-point field goal percentage (30.6) while averaging 7.1 points per game.
