Carlow riding a three-game winning streak including a comeback win over Mount Aloysius (64-62) on the road Jan. 3 and against Pitt Bradford (83-74) at home this past Saturday. The Celtics are averaging 72.7 points per game against conference opponents so far this year and are shooting 68.4 percent from the foul line. Junior guard Sydney Carr posted a career- and season-high 34 points with 11 rebounds for a double-double against Pitt-Bradford. She also tallied five assists, four steals and five blocks. Sophomore guard Emiley Hillgartner and junior guard Shaelyn Clark are both averaging double figures as well (14.9 and 10.7 PPG respectively). Emma Aubrey made 22 three-pointers so far this year.
Penn State Altoona women’s basketball heads into Wednesday night’s home matchup against first-year AMCC opponent Carlow with a 5-1 conference record. The Lions boast four players averaging double figures in points: sophomore forward Avana Sayles (15.3 points per game), sophomore guard/forward Jaidyn McCracken (15.1 points per game), sophomore guard Jess Burns (10.5 points per game), and junior guard Jordan Bisignani (10.3 points per game). Additionally, freshman forward Raniyah Green averages a team-best 7.5 rebounds per game, while Sayles and McCracken each average 6.5 rebounds per game. As a team, Penn State Altoona leads the conference in three-pointers made per game (7.1), three-point field goal percentage (32.4), and defensive rebounds per game (28.7).
