PENN STATE BEHREND TOPS AMCC PRESEASON WOMEN'S BASKETBALL POLL

AMCC coaches look to defending AMCC champion, Penn State Behrend, to defend their league title this season. La Roche University, who won the 2024 regular season title, but fell in the tournament championship game to Behrend, is expected to finish in second place this season, with Penn State Altoona also finishing in the top three.

 

Penn State Behrend junior guard Morgan Altavilla has been tabbed as the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. Altavilla was a first team all-conference selection in 2024. She was Behrend’s leading scorer and ranked second in the AMCC with 18.7 points per game. She held the team’s best field goal percentage, shooting 49.0 percent from the floor. Altavilla ranked second in the AMCC in three-point field-goal percentage (38.9) and in assists per game with 3.9. 

 

The AMCC Championship will be held Saturday, March 1 at the site of the number one seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
