With a total pinfall of 4,468, #3 seed Pitt-Bradford leads the
inaugural AMCC championship by 65 pins after the first day of
competition.
Day one competition began on Saturday, Feb. 8, with the Team
format. The squads played a double round robin with the winner of
each match being decided based by total pinfall. Medaille
College was a close second with 4403 pins. The Mavericks made up
some serious ground after having a sluggish start. Senior Ashley
Marthage was the Mavericks’ leading bowler with a 176.5
average for the day. Penn State Altoona and Mount Aloysius College
rounded out the scorecard for day one. PSA racked up a total of
3985, led by freshman Brea Suhonic's 174.6 scoring average.
The Mounties registered 3442 pins with the help of senior Courtney
Sable, who contributed 624 pins (104 average).
UPB junior Sarah Foley finished her day with the competition’s highest average of 201. Foley tallied a game-high of 252 in the first game.
